Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Tachlis AI LLC ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"). Your use of the Product constitutes your acceptance of these Terms and our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated herein by reference. If you are using the Product on behalf of an organization (such as a yeshiva or mosad), you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

You must be at least 13 years of age to use TachlisAI. Users under the age of 18 must have parental or guardian consent. By creating an account, you represent that the information you provide is accurate and that you will keep it current. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.

No account is required to use the free Tachlis tier. However, certain features including saved conversation history, the accountability partner feature, and paid subscription benefits require account creation.

SMS and WhatsApp chat terms

TachlisAI text chat is an optional service operated by Tachlis AI LLC. SMS is sent from +1 845-203-2333. WhatsApp is available only through an official TachlisAI business sender displayed in WhatsApp or on TachlisAI. You may opt into SMS by texting START and completing SMS setup, or by adding and verifying your mobile number in your TachlisAI account. You request WhatsApp replies by initiating a message to an official TachlisAI sender and completing any setup or consent prompts shown in that conversation. These flows authorize user-initiated AI assistant responses, account and security messages, customer-care responses, chat controls, and HELP/STOP/START confirmations on the channel you use.

• Message frequency varies based on how often you use SMS or WhatsApp chat.
• Message and data rates may apply.
• Send STOP on a channel to opt out of that channel.
• Send START to begin setup or resume that channel after opting out.
• Send HELP for help, or email support@tachlisai.com.
• SMS and WhatsApp preferences and opt-outs are maintained separately.

TachlisAI does not send marketing or promotional SMS or WhatsApp messages. WhatsApp replies are provided in response to user-initiated conversations during WhatsApp's customer-service window; TachlisAI does not currently send proactive WhatsApp messages outside that window.

WhatsApp messages, attachments, images, voice notes, transcripts, generated voice or image responses, delivery events, and quoted-reply references are processed as described in the Privacy Policy. The service uses Twilio and the WhatsApp Business Platform, and your use is also subject to their applicable terms and policies. Do not use SMS or WhatsApp chat for emergencies, and do not send full card numbers, financial-account, government-ID, health, or other highly sensitive information.

3. Acceptable Use

3.1 Permitted Use

TachlisAI is designed to provide practical, halacha-sensitive AI assistance for individuals, families, and institutions in the frum community. You may use the Product for personal, educational, and professional purposes consistent with these Terms.

3.2 Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to:

• Attempt to bypass, circumvent, manipulate, or otherwise defeat the Product's content filtering systems, including through creative prompting, roleplay framing, indirect requests, or any other technique
• Use the Product to generate, solicit, or distribute content that is sexually explicit, pornographic, or otherwise in violation of tznius standards
• Use the Product to generate or distribute content that constitutes apikorsus, heresy, or material that contradicts fundamental principles of Torah Judaism
• Upload, transmit, or request content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, or unlawful
• Attempt to extract halachic rulings (psakim) from the Product or represent AI-generated content as authoritative halachic guidance
• Impersonate any person, rav, posek, or organization
• Use the Product to develop competing products or services without express written permission
• Use automated scripts, bots, or scraping tools to access the Product
• Attempt to probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Product's systems

Violations of Section 3.2, particularly any attempt to circumvent content filtering, are grounds for immediate account termination without refund.

4. No Halachic Rulings - Important Disclaimer

TachlisAI does not provide psakim (halachic rulings) or authoritative halachic guidance of any kind. Any Torah-related content generated by the Product is for informational and educational purposes only. You must consult a qualified rav or posek for any practical halachic question. The Company expressly disclaims all liability for reliance on any halacha-adjacent content generated by the Product.

Where the Product cites Torah sources, such citations are provided as reference only and do not constitute a ruling, recommendation, or opinion on halachic practice. Different communities and poskim may reach different conclusions on any given matter. By using the Product, you affirmatively acknowledge and accept this limitation.

5. Content Filtering and Community Standards

The Product employs automated and human-reviewed content filtering designed to maintain standards consistent with Torah values, tznius, and community norms. While we invest significant effort in maintaining these filters, we cannot guarantee that all outputs will satisfy every community's standards or every individual's hashkafic expectations.

The hashkafa community profile you select during onboarding helps personalize the filtering experience. You are responsible for selecting a profile that reflects your community standards. The Company does not warrant that any specific hashkafa configuration will satisfy the requirements of any particular posek, rav, or community authority.

If you encounter content that you believe violates community standards, please use the in-product reporting mechanism. Submitting a report does not create any obligation on the Company to take specific action within a specific timeframe, but we review all reports and take them seriously.

6. Image Generation

Image generation is currently available on Tachlis and Tachlis Pro plans and at no charge in the iOS and Android apps. By using the image generation feature, you agree to the following:

• You will not attempt to generate images depicting real, identifiable individuals
• You will not attempt to generate images that are sexually suggestive, immodest, or otherwise inconsistent with tznius standards
• You will not attempt to generate images that are violent, disturbing, or offensive
• You will not attempt to circumvent image content filters through indirect descriptions, metaphorical language, or multi-step prompting

All image generation requests are subject to pre- and post-generation content moderation. Filtered outputs are not a guarantee that every generated image will satisfy all community standards. Repeated attempts to generate filtered or inappropriate content will result in account suspension or termination.

7. Accountability partner Feature

The accountability partner feature allows you to optionally share conversation activity with a designated accountability partner. This feature is entirely voluntary. By enabling it, you agree to the following:

• You will only designate an accountability partner with that person's express consent
• You understand that your designated partner may receive access to flagged content and activity summaries as configured
• You may withdraw from the accountability partner arrangement at any time, though tamper-proof logs that have already been generated cannot be retroactively deleted
• The Company is not responsible for how an accountability partner uses or shares information they receive through this feature

The accountability partner feature involves the interaction of two users' data. Each party's rights regarding their own data are governed by the Privacy Policy. If a dispute arises between an account holder and an accountability partner regarding shared data, the Company is not a party to that dispute.

8. User-Uploaded Content

When you upload files or documents to the Product, you represent that you have the right to upload such content and that doing so does not violate any third-party intellectual property rights, privacy rights, or applicable law. You retain ownership of content you upload. By uploading content, you grant the Company a limited license to process that content for the sole purpose of providing the Product's functionality.

You are solely responsible for the content you upload. The Company is not responsible for any uploaded content that violates third-party rights or applicable law.

9. AI Output - General Disclaimer

TachlisAI is powered by large language model technology. AI-generated content can be inaccurate, incomplete, outdated, or contextually inappropriate. You should not rely on TachlisAI output as a substitute for professional advice whether legal, medical, financial, halachic, or otherwise. The Product is provided as a general-purpose tool, and the Company makes no representations regarding the accuracy, reliability, or fitness of any particular output for any particular purpose.

10. Free Tier and Data Use Consent

Free use includes the iOS and Android apps while they are provided at no charge. If you use TachlisAI on the free Tachlis tier, your chat conversations may be used by the Company to improve the Product, as described in the Privacy Policy. By using the free tier, you grant the Company a license to use your chat data for product improvement purposes. Paid tier users' chat data will not be used for model training or improvement without explicit opt-in consent.

11. Pricing, Payment, and Subscriptions

The TachlisAI iOS and Android apps are currently provided at no charge. Every feature shown in each app is available to its users. The paid subscription provisions below apply only to paid subscriptions where offered.

11.1 Billing

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. By subscribing, you authorize the Company to charge your payment method on a recurring basis. You are responsible for keeping your payment information current.

11.2 Annual Billing

Annual plans are billed as a single upfront charge and provide access to the Product for twelve months. Annual pricing represents a discount equivalent to two months free compared to the monthly rate.

11.3 Refund Policy

All subscription fees are non-refundable. As a one-time courtesy for new subscribers only, users who cancel within seven (7) days of their initial subscription date may contact support to request a full refund of that subscription period. This grace period applies only to a user's first-ever subscription and does not apply to renewals, plan upgrades, or resubscriptions. The Company reserves the right to deny refund requests that appear to abuse this policy.

This refund accommodation is a courtesy extended at the Company's discretion and does not constitute a "free trial" or promotional offer.

11.4 Cancellation

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access to paid features through the end of the period for which you have paid. Cancellation does not entitle you to a refund of any fees already charged, except as provided in Section 11.3.

11.5 Usage Limits and Throttling

Each subscription tier is subject to the AI Credits and usage limits described on our pricing page. Rather than cutting off access mid-conversation, the Company may reduce response speed (throttling) when usage approaches plan limits. Chat, image generation, coding, and Pro mode usage draw from the same AI Credits bucket unless a separately enabled paid, top-up, or admin feature states otherwise. Usage limits reset on a rolling 30-day window from your subscription date, not at the beginning of each calendar month.

11.6 Discount Programs

The Company may offer reduced pricing at its discretion, including accommodations for avreichim and rav-referred kehilla members. Discounts are non-transferable, not combinable with other offers, and may require verification. The Company reserves the right to modify or discontinue discount programs at any time.

12. Institutional and Multi-Seat Accounts

Institutional accounts (Mosad tier) and family accounts (Mishpacha tier, when available) involve an administrator who manages access for other users, which may include minors. The account administrator is responsible for:

• Ensuring that all users under the account have appropriate consent to use the Product, including parental consent for minors
• Configuring the account's hashkafa and content settings appropriately for their user base
• Complying with applicable laws regarding minors' data and privacy
• The conduct of all users under their account

The Company is not responsible for how institutional administrators configure or manage their accounts, or for content encountered by users under institutional accounts as a result of administrator configuration choices.

13. Intellectual Property

The Product, including its software, design, branding, and underlying technology, is owned by Tachlis AI LLC and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any ownership interest in the Product.

AI-generated outputs produced through your use of the Product are provided for your personal or professional use. The Company makes no claim of ownership over outputs you generate, but also makes no warranty regarding the originality of AI-generated content or its freedom from third-party intellectual property claims.

14. Community Reporting Mechanism

The Product includes a mechanism for users to report content they believe violates community standards or these Terms. By submitting a report, you represent that your report is made in good faith. Submitting a report does not create a contractual obligation on the Company to take any specific action or to respond within any specific timeframe. The Company will review reports and take action as it deems appropriate in its sole discretion.

Submitting false or bad-faith reports is a violation of these Terms and may result in account suspension.

15. Disclaimers

THE PRODUCT IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. THE COMPANY DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE PRODUCT WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE FROM HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

The Company does not warrant that the Product's content filtering will satisfy the standards of any particular posek, rav, rabbinical organization, or community authority. Users and institutions are responsible for determining whether the Product is appropriate for their use.

16. Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, THE COMPANY AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE PRODUCT, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

FOR USE OF THE IOS AND ANDROID APPS WHILE THEY ARE PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE, THE COMPANY'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THAT USE SHALL NOT EXCEED ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100). FOR OTHER USE OF THE PRODUCT, THE COMPANY'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THAT USE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO THE COMPANY IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

17. Termination

The Company reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, with or without notice, for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at the Company's discretion. Conduct that is particularly likely to result in immediate termination without notice includes:

• Attempting to circumvent or defeat content filtering systems
• Generating or attempting to generate content that is sexually explicit or violates tznius standards
• Repeated abuse of the community reporting mechanism
• Fraudulent use of discount or scholarship programs

You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@tachlisai.com. Termination does not entitle you to any refund except as provided in Section 11.3. You can also close your account using Close account in Settings.

18. Changes to These Terms

The Company may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by posting the updated Terms on our website and updating the effective date above. Your continued use of the Product after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.

19. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Product shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Kings County, New York. You consent to personal jurisdiction in such courts.

Before initiating formal legal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@tachlisai.com to attempt to resolve the dispute informally. We will make good-faith efforts to resolve disputes within thirty (30) days.
